In our spiritual life with Jesus, He has given us everything we need to live godly lives, and to do the work he has called us too . He begins with the power source: the Holy Spirit. Let’s look at the text, “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 1 Peter series Humble Yourselves

Humble Yourselves 1 Peter 5:5b-11 In closing his letter to the exiled saints throughout Asia minor, it wasn’t Peter the great, Peter the magnificent, Pope Peter, or Saint Peter who sits at Heaven’s gate, but Peter an apostle and servant of Jesus Christ who writes to them. (John 21:15-19) Peter now exhorts the believers called to do the work of a shepherd of God’s flocks both old and young: do it in love, willingly without compulsion ‘for what is in it for me’, eagerly, not reluctantly, and in humbleness, not ‘who's the Lead’. It is in h...

It was the start of the cold war, WWII was over, but mankind was ramping up the nuclear powers. In 2007, the keepers of the clock began to consider the surge of super technology and the dwindling  ecological climate. In 2021, the clock now reads 1 minute 40 seconds till midnight, or you can imagine the cartoon of father time holding his sign “the end is near.”  But Peter is not speaking of clocks or cardboard signs, a nuclear apocalypse or a meld down...

Living the Will of God 1 Peter 4:1-6 Suffering is a part of God’s will, not that God's desire is to hurt anyone, it all comes down to the effect of sin on the world, and the work of salvation completed by Jesus Christ. Peter having seen Christ beat by Roman soldiers in the courtyard of the praetorium in Jerusalem. He knew the suffering of following Christ, the bearing of the cross, and at the end he was hung upside down on a cross. Peter learned the importance of living God’s will and not his own. Let’s look at the text, ”Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. As a result, they d...
