Wisdom Folly Hearts and Minds Teemed with Intentions Proverbs 10:23-32 (NKJV) When I think of the depravity of the heart and mind of mankind, I reflect on three verses. “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” “ Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.” ( Jeremiah 17:9-10; Rom. 1:28) And the Holy Spirit spoke truly about the mind in James “ A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” (1:8 KJV) In this proverb Solomon contrasts and contends with the hearts and minds of mankind.
