Who’s Your Abba?


John 8:42-47


With all the meshuga and traumatizing genetic, phycological, or surgical modifications mankind is trying to transform on humans, there is one Truth man can’t alter. Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Jesus always is, was, and will always be the Son of God. Even if the enemies of God have twisted and contorted man’s mind on who or what God created them to be, God, the trinity, is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. 


Let’s look at the text, “Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.”

Jesus has now thrown down the gauntlet. He has been trying in love to reveal to the people in the temple of Jerusalem that God the Father has sent him to expose the lies of the enemy, the devil, “Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 Jn. 3:8) As well, Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost to sin, to fulfill the will of the Father, and to set the captives free from sin. But the people wouldn’t believe in him or his words. Jesus came as love, for he and the Father are one. 

The people’s minds and hearts were closed. Jesus espoused that they can’t even understand the language that is coming out of his mouth. Their stony hearts and metallic minds couldn’t conceive the truth from his mouth. 

Jesus now lays it out as plainly as possible, “You belong to your father the devil because you have championed his desires and advocated his character and will.” The people had been carrying out the devil’s plan and desire unknowingly from birth. In sin, the people had endorsed the desires of Satan, and the people were blinded to the truth and love of God.

Application - How true are the words from Jesus. Much of the world is held captive to the lies and deceptions of the devil, and his demonic cohorts. It seems incomprehensible that we are propagating the genetic altering of deadly viruses, passing on untested genetically modified therapies, and mandating the altering of the creation of God by physiological manipulations of children and adults. We are the progeny of the devil, for we are sinning and it seems we are escalating our sinfulness to a catastrophic new level. We have thrown out truth from top to the bottom in our societies. We cannot hear the word or distinguish God’s truth even if it is plainly spoken or shown to us. Romans 1 is the evidential truth for today. We are without excuse, for the glory of God is evident in His creation. We have been given over by God to a depraved and reprobate mindset.

The words Jesus spoke in the temple that day should resonate and reverberate in our ears. We should believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, he came and spoke the truth, for he is the truth (Jn. 14:6-7 -  “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.  If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” So let us ask ourselves, Who is our Father? For if we believe the truth, it will reveal who he is, and whose children we are.


Last, Jesus hammers the character of the enemy of God. Let’s look at the rest of the text, “He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”


Jesus exposes Satan’s personality and attributes: he is a murderer of the truth and God’s creation, He is the father of lies, and he is the chief deceiver who seeks to destroy God’s plans through lies.

Jesus knows Satan from heaven, for he was with the Father when Satan was banished from heaven for his pride, deceptions, and mendaciousness against the truth. Jesus saw the handy work of Satan. The people would not accept the truth, even if it was before their very darkened eyes, and his truthful words fell on deafened ears because of the devil’s parentage. 

The people had the truth: the commandments, the law, and the words of the prophets, yet they couldn’t comprehend or perceive that God had sent them the Messiah, the One whom they had been longing for. Jesus came speaking only the truth, the very words of God the Father. But all they could do is accuse Jesus of sin because of his claiming he came from God the Father. Jesus had told them if they believed the truth, the truth would set them free from their captivity and the depravity because of sin. But they couldn’t apprehend the bondage to sin, and their stupefiedness to their true father, the devil. Who is the accuser against all that is true? He is the father to all who have sinned, who listen to the lies and deceptions and whose ears are stopped up to the truth. Those who share his characteristics are his progeny, they belong to him. 

Application - Misinformation should have been the word for the year, possible from the fall of man. The devil is about his task to steal, kill, and destroy. He has done this through misinformation throughout our world. We see the murdering of millions through the misinformation of genetic misappropriation and lies propagated through those who are blind, deaf, and the progeny of the devil. They are like the people in Noah’s day. “The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.” (Gen. 6:5) 

The Truth will be revealed as it was in Noah’s day. The Father will again send His Son, but this time he will come for his Bride the Church, then after God’s wrath on the progeny of the devil, and the demonic trinity: the antichrist, the beast, and the false prophet. God will set up a new heaven and a new Earth, Truth will reign from on high, and all lies, deception, and misinformation will never be uttered again. 

I’m again including the ABC’s of salvation (JD Farag). Please, Jesus, God the Son, came to this world to save all who would believe and trust in him. He desires to reveal himself to you, He is the Light that overcomes the darkness of this lawless world. He hears your prayers, and all authority in heaven and earth have been given to him. He will answer you if you will truly believe. If you haven’t asked him to be your Lord and Savior, today could be that day.

 First, A - Admit that you are a sinner. This is where that godly sorrow leads to genuine repentance for sinning against a righteous God and there is a change of heart, we change our mind and God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out. Romans 3:10 - As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one." Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (We are all born sinners which is why we must be born spiritually in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven). Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. The bad news is that the wages of sin is death, in other words our sin means that we have been given a death sentence, we have the death penalty hanging over our heads, that's the bad news. But here's the good news: The good news is that the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 2:8-9 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Second,

 B - Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Jesus from the dead. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said he was. Romans 10:9-10 - That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Third, 

C - Call upon the name of the Lord. Every single person who ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Lord of lords and the King of kings. Romans 14:11 - For it is written: "As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God." Don't wait until later — do this now. Romans 10:13 - For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." "O God, I am a sinner. I'm sorry for my sin. I want to turn from my sin. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son; I believe that He died on the cross for my sin and that He was buried and You raised Him to life. I have decided to place my faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior, trusting only in His shed blood as sufficient to save my soul and to take me to heaven. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving me. Amen."
